Guests from near and far gathered to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Leipzig’s incubator and tech hub. What began as a vision is now the nucleus of a thriving life science and tech industry attracting innovators from around the world

The Free State of Saxony’s initial investment of 200 million Euros has more than paid off in the last two decades. Centrally located on Leipzig’s historic fairground, BioCity Leipzig has been facilitating groundbreaking research and generating exciting business opportunities since its inception.

It sowed the seeds for the BioCity Campus Leipzig, where more than 50 life science and tech companies and institutes have settled to date – and which is still growing. A new Innovation Center for start-ups is projected to open there in 2025, with Leipzig and Saxony committed to supporting further sustainable growth for both industries in the future.
