Connected Health Summit 2026: Spotlight on 6G and its role in healthcare

1. April 2026  •  News

What role will 6G technology play in the future of healthcare in Germany? Experts at the Connected Health Summit 2026 in Leipzig are set to answer these and many other questions.

6G is the next major leap in wireless connectivity, enabling fast and intelligent networks that can support advanced digital and AI-powered applications. But what does this mean for the field of healthcare in Germany? In March, answers to this question are being explored at the Connected Health Summit 2026 in Leipzig, which is highlighting the results of the BMFTR-funded project ‘6G Health’.

The summit is designed for key players from healthcare, business, telecoms, health insurance, regulatory bodies, government, and research. The all-day event comprises two parts: In the morning there are hands-on live demonstrations showcasing the project’s results. Attendees follow a patient journey and experience how 6G-enabled connectivity, secure data flows, and interoperable systems can work together. In the afternoon, participants gain new perspectives on networked medicine, including aspects such as clinical adoption, legal compliance, financing, and infrastructure.
